Richard W. Ferrin
Richard W. Ferrin is the Founder of World Education Group and serves as its President & CEO. He has more than 35 years of higher education leadership that began with work in program research and development at The College Board. Most recently, Dr. Ferrin served from 2005-2012 as President of Penn Foster College, an international distance learning institution with more than 25,000 students.
Prior to forming WEgroup, Dr. Ferrin was President of Salem International University, which ranked #3 in the US in the percentage of international students in its student body. Since 2002 he has conducted recruitment and program planning trips to India, China, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Vietnam. In an earlier college presidency and two academic vice presidencies he led successful efforts to increase international student enrollments while instituting cross-cultural, student and faculty exchange and study abroad programs around the world.
Dr. Ferrin has served on higher education advisory boards in Singapore and South Korea, as an honorary professor at universities in South Korea and Japan, and as a board member for numerous community and educational organizations in the United States.
Dr. Ferrin earned his Ph.D. in educational administration and organizational behavior at Stanford University and participated in the Institute for Educational Management at Harvard University.
